The Rice Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering’s National Science Foundation-Funded Research Experience for Teachers (IBB’s NSF RET)

IBB’s National Science Foundation-funded Research Experience for Teachers (NSF RET) is supplementary to IBB’s NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program entitled “Rice University Summer Undergraduate Research Program in Cellular Engineering.” The IBB RET science high school teacher will assist with IBB’s Summer Academy for high school students and also participates in a 9-week research experience opportunity in a state-of-the-art science laboratory at Rice University. The intention of this RET is for the participating teacher to review some basic science topics, be exposed to cutting-edge research in cellular engineering, and develop new curricula to implement in their science classes.
