Shielded 500 mHz NMR
A shielded 500 mHz NMR – at Professor B. Montgomery Pettitt’s laboratory.
http://www.chem.uh.edu/Faculty/Pettitt/
The NMR facility is open 24/7 for authorized users. However, because of security, after ~7 PM weekdays and on weekends an exterior key and a cougar one scan card are needed for access to the building. If needed, access to the building during the off hour's may be arranged. There are currently 2 JEOL NMR's located in the SERC NMR Lab room W5009 (lab phone:832-842-8880)
For ANH Member Institutions the rates are as follows:
-
8AM to 5PM (weekdays) $4/hour
-
5PM to 8PM (weekdays) $3/hour
-
8PM to 8AM (weekday) and all weekends $2/hour we charge $10 per hour for actual nmr usage by non-UH academic institutions.
List of current default experiments setup for users.
Briefly the hardware is as follows:
JEOL ECA 500. 500 MHz nmr spectrometer with an auto-tune broadband N-15-P31 probe capable of operation between -100 C to 150 C. We have 2 frequency synthesizers, with the current probe we can presaturate up to 2 solvent peaks during H-1 experiments on samples that have a dynamic range problem.
JEOL ECX-400P 400 MHz nmr spectrometer with an auto-tune broadband N-15-
P31 probe capable of operation between -100 C to 150 C.
Both machines use the JEOL Delta operation's software. UH has a site license so it can be installed on any computer you want. This software permits remote offsite operation of the spectrometers.
Training can be arranged for anyone in your research group to operate these systems independently. The training breaks down into three (3) sessions which last ~ two (2) hours each. Part one software/hardware familiarization, 1-D experiment setup/operation and plotting. Part two (2) advanced 1-D experiments, 2-D setup and execution. Part 3 advanced 2-D processing and plotting.
