SUMMARY:Translational Optical Molecular Imaging\: Nano to Macro
DTSTART:20070521T130000Z
DTEND:20070523T220000Z
DESCRIPTION:There is a critical need to translate research and optical
systems development to produce medical products that are robust\, por
table\, and cost-effective. Recent progress in translational optical i
maging relies on the synthesis of knowledge from many fields including
fundamental optical science\, medicine\, chemical and biomedical engi
neering\, and medical imaging and device technology. Combining diagnos
tic imaging with molecular characterization of disease is producing ne
w trends that are sharpening perspectives\; and producing practical te
chniques and devices that are approaching clinical application and/or
 commercial development.
